Bart Demuyt


 
Bart Demuyt is director of the Laus Polyphony Festival in Antwerp and of the Alamire Foundation (International Centre for the study of Music in the Low Countries) based at Leuven University, Belgium.

After graduating from Leuven's Lemmens Instituut (Belgium) with performance degrees in guitar, chamber music and choral conducting, specialising in early music and voice, he began his career at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven as an academic researcher in musicology.

For a considerable time he has worked as artistic coordinator for Musica, Impulse Centre for Music and successively he has been the artistic director for Cappella Pratensis, Flanders Festival Bruges- Musica Antiqua and Bruges' Concertgebouw.
