The National Centre for Early Music held a fabulous candlelit masked Venetian Extravaganza on Friday 29 November 2013 to celebrate the launch our new NCEM Student Fund.

The NCEM works closely with young musicians from across the UK and is dedicated to supporting their professional development - and love - of early music. The new Student Fund will support a variety of different initiatives which include the NCEM Young Composers Award run in association with BBC Radio 3; the biennial International Young Artists Competition, supported by York Early Music Festival, the European Union Baroque Orchestra and Linn Records and the new Renaissance Choir of the Year in association with York Minster and Robert Hollingworth, due to take place in 2016 and young people's performance opportunities across the region.

We believe we can really make a difference to the lives of young musicians and support them in their musical journey and helping to bridge the gap between inspiration and practicality.

If you would like to make a donation to the NCEM Student Fund, please send a donation using Pay Pal below or or send it directly to Delma Tomlin, Director, the NCEM, St Margaret's Church, Walmgate, York, YO1 9TL
