Duo Piccolo e Grande

Period(s) Baroque
Style of ensemble Instrumental

Biography

Duo Piccolo e Grande was formed to explore non-mainstream baroque repertoire. Their featured instrument is the mandolino, a precise replica of the 1752 V&A original, accompanied by theorbo. A baroque hurdy-gurdy is also added to create a truly unusual musical event. An illustrated pre-concert talk is also available.

Duo Piccolo e Grande has given numerous concerts nationwide, performing twice for the Lute Society, at Lincoln Cathedral and at several churches.

The members, both professional since 1984, have worked as soloists and as part of several ensembles.

Enzo Puzzovio has performed and recorded worldwide from the UK to the USA, from Albania to Australia.

Stewart McCoy has an MMus with distinction in Historical Musicology from King's College, London, and an ARCM in Lute Teaching. His recordings include CDs with Emma Kirkby and Wesminster Choir.
