Period:1769-1872

David Owen Norris has been playing early pianos since 1984, as a soloist and with such artists as Philip Langridge, David Wilson-Johnson, Ernst Kovacic and Monica Huggett. His pianoforte recordings include Winterreise, The World's First Piano Concertos, Entertaining Miss Austen, Mr Hook's Christmas Box, etc. His current project, Devices & Desires: mechanics and metaphysics of pianistic expression 1815-1872, deals with Mendelssohn, Sterndale Bennett and the wide repertoire of orchestral music arranged for violin, flute, cello and pianoforte, including Mozart Concertos virtuosified by Cramer & Hummel. Norris also plays the modern piano, and is well known as a broadcaster and composer.
