Biography

Named after the mythological lyre player, the Amphion Consort has been described as "excellent" by Time Out London.
The ensemble ranges in format from a duo of voice and lute to 5-6 members.
Special focus is on chamber music by Biber, Locke and Purcell;  Spanish courtly songs of the 16th century; Elizabethan lute songs and the colourful Consort of Six (aka Broken Consort); French music by Marais, Visee and Couperin; works by Haydn, Boccherini and Beethoven that feature the lute, guitar and romantic flute. 
The ensemble also collaborates with jazz musician Gilad Atzmon in a crossover between jazz and baroque music.
