Il Quadro Animato will be in residency with us from 21 to 30 May. Founded in Milan, the ensemble is currently based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. They specialise in the Baroque, Galant and Classical styles, focusing on the concertanti, sonatas for four or five instruments (flute, violin, viola and cello and continuo or obbligato keyboard) in which each of the instrumentalists is featured as a soloist. Though fascinated with historically informed performance practice, the ensemble aims to add a fresh and creative twist to the music they perform.

A highlight of their residency will be their performance as part of the Beverley and East Riding Festival - 'A Sentimental Journey' takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday 24 May at Toll Gavel United Church, Beverley. Book tickets here

As part of the eeemerging scheme, Il Quadro Animato have already enjoyed residencies in Göttingen, Germany and Ambronay, France. Further details of their York residency will be available on this page shortly.
