Valentín Miralles bass

We are delighted that the engaging young Spanish vocal ensemble Cantoría will join us in York for a residency from 24 - 27 May.

Based in Barcelona and directed by Jorge Losana, Cantoría has been making waves across Europe since its foundation in 2016.  It was selected for the IYAP (International Young Artists' Presentation) in Antwerp in 2017 and for the Eeemerging (Emerging European Ensembles) programme in 2018.

Focusing mainly on the music of the Spanish Golden Age and the Italian Renaissance, Cantoría particularly enjoys exploring the theatrical and communicative character of Renaissance vocal music and while in York they will receive artistic coaching from Robert Hollingworth, director of I Fagiolini who are renowned for their innovative and creative productions.

Cantoría will round off their residency with a performance on Sunday 26 May at 7.00pm at St. James' Church, Warter as part of the Beverley Early Music Festival. Book tickets online.ía
