Arts Admin Work Experience Post
October 2019 to June 2020 (flexible)

The National Centre for Early Music (NCEM) in York is offering an opportunity for a student to join us for half a day a week to work alongside marketing, box office and operations staff.
The student must be available to base themselves at the NCEM for a regular half-day (minimum 4 hours) a week and must be over the age of 18.
The successful student will gain an invaluable insight into the workings of a small arts organisation and be part of a small but dynamic and hardworking team. He/she will get plenty of hands-on experience. This would be an ideal post for anyone looking for a career in arts admin. 


We are looking for a student who has the following skills:
o Ability to write well
o A confident communicator
o Familiar with Word and Excel spreadsheets
o Regular user of social media - Twitter/Facebook/Instagram
o Good telephone manner
o Strong organisational skills
o Research skills
o Team player alongside the ability and initiative to work alone
o Willingness to use the photocopier and make tea!


This is a non-paid position but pre-approved out of pocket expenses would be covered (receipts would be required) and the NCEM would be willing to provide future job references. The post is available from October 2019.
