Broadening Horizons - A Song for Health - 4th June 2020

Broadening Horizons - A Song for Health
Thursday 4 June
14.00 - 16.00
NCEM
As part of the Festival of Ideas

In November 2019 The World Health Organisation published a report about the health benefits of the arts. Their conclusion was 'The arts are good for you'

Join Chris Bartram and Nicola Gill to discover more about this research and how the arts can improve your own health and wellbeing. Hear Nicola outline the evidence. Experience the benefits for yourself in an informal, relaxing singing session led by Chris in the beautiful acoustic of the NCEM. Members of Cuppa & Chorus, a York singing for health project will be at the workshop to share their experiences of singing in the group.

This session is open to everyone; you don't need to be able to sing, consider yourself musical, or have an interest in the arts. We just ask that you are curious to broaden your horizons and find out more.

Following on from the success of last year's health and wellbeing events that took place during the 2019 Festival of Ideas at the NCEM, we are delighted to be working with Nicola again as we continue to develop our health and wellbeing agenda and that of the wider community. Take a look at last year's events at http://www.ncem.co.uk/?idno=1640 and our Cuppa and a Chorus community singing group at http://www.ncem.co.uk/?idno=1556 .
