SPECTRUM is a chamber choir of eighteen singers based in York, founded and directed by Ben Horden. The Choir is comprised of students from the University of York, both past and present, some of whom are already pursuing successful careers. Although still in its infancy, the Choir has already performed a wide repertoire of music spanning over 500 years, from Renaissance polyphony and masters of the High Baroque to choral music of the present day in both liturgical and non-liturgical contexts. Spectrum made its debut performance in York Minster in January 2012 and continues in a successful programme of concerts. Our focus is to enjoying making music together and to develop musically as a group, aiming to produce informed performances of the very highest standards.
