The Dance of the Deadly Sins

A newly devised dance theatre experience based on the 16th-century dance play from Seville by Diego Sanchez de Badajoz. The story follows Adam, the first man created, as he meets seven dancing girls representing the Seven Deadly Sins. Lurking behind gravestones, loitering in doorways and parading on the lawns and pathways while you take your seats, each one will then emerge using historical dance to charm and disarm
him. Will he succumb, or will he heed the words of wisdom spoken by the Good Shepherd?

Are you interested in historical dance and taking part in this performance? We are running workshops
for dancers and musicians in June – log on to www.ncem.co.uk/nonsuch for information.

Presented in association with I Cervantes Manchester & Leeds and the Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs, Embassy of Spain, UK.
