Handel in Rome

Handel's journeys around Italy in his early twenties nourished the fledgling composer. Most of his time was spent in Rome, where a succession of connections with powerful patrons led to the creation of his first masterpieces in many of the essential genres of the day including pastoral cantatas, oratorios and church music. David Vickers examines how Handel's Roman activities prepared the foundations upon which his illustrious career was built.

Ticket price includes a glass of wine on arrival.
