Event 26: Competition Final

The York Early Music International Young Artists Competition will be presented by animateur Richard Jackson and judged by conductor Laurence Cummings; festival director Bart Demuyt; Philip Hobbs of Linn Records; viol specialist Wieland Kuijken and composer/medievalist Stevie Wishart. The winners of the 2013 competition will be announced at the end of the afternoon and will receive a cheque for £1,000, a CD recording contract from Linn Records and opportunities to work with BBC Radio 3 and the National Centre for Early Music. In addition we will be awarding the first York European Union Baroque Orchestra Development Trust Prize for the most promising young instrumentalist(s) and the Friends of York Early Music Festival Audience Prize.
