Music4U - the Humber Region Action Zone - was co-ordinated by the National Centre for Early Music working in partnership with the East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire Councils supported by Arts Council England, Yorkshire and insitgated and funded by Youth Music.

Since it began in September 2001, Music4U has provided music-making opportunities for nearly 30,000 young people up to the age of 18 living in the Humber Region. During its first 10 years, the initiative worked with a variety of different partners over the years including BBC Blast, Humberside Police and a wide selection of schools, youth clubs and community groups.
