Ulmer Spatzen Choir Concert

Ulmer Spatzen Choir
Children from Hempland and Wigginton Primary Schools had the chance to meet and sing with members of the Ulmer Spatzen Choir, when they visited York as part of their UK tour.

Memebrs of the award-winning girls' choir, together with their leaders, visited the two schools on the morning of 7th September 2010.  They performed to the children, taught them some songs, and talked about life in Ulm in southern Germany.

In the afternoon, sixty children from each school visited St Geroge's Church, where they were treated to a concert by the complete choir, and had the chance to enjoy singing alongside them.

The concert and workshop was organised by the National Centre for Early Music, which also played host to the choir as a rehearsal venue the day before.  The Ulmer Spatzen's tour also included concerts and performances in Worksop, Harewood House, Lincoln, Worcester and Kidderminster.
