North East Early Music Forum - Music Library


The 2008 Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival will run from Friday 23rd - Monday 26th May.

Guest artists will include The Tallis Scholars (Friday 23rd May, Beverley Minster); the Academy of Ancient Music directed by Pavlo Beznosiuk with Frank de Bruine (oboe) (Saturday 24th May, Beverley Minster) and soprano Emma Kirkby working with lutenist Jakob Lindberg (Sunday 25th May, St James’ Church, Warter) and look out for the competition for young composers noted below.

There will also be the opportunity to listen to The Tallis Scholars perform the piece entitled ‘Stabat Mater’ composed by 17 year old, Keryn Tatman, who has just been chosen as the winner of this year's Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival’s Young Composers’ Competition 2008. Keryn was one of six Yorkshire finalists.

The Festival is administered by the National Centre for Early Music and funded by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council with support from Schroder's Financial Management and Orchestras Live.
