30 November 2009 7.30pm NCEM Chris Wood’s Handmade Life Band - Sold Out Current holder of BBC Folk Awards forboth Singer of the Year and Best Album,Chris Wood is now recognised as a major musical commentator on contemporary English life. For this one-off tour, supported by anaward from the Contemporary Music Network, Chris broadens his music with a distinctive band line-up. Fellow Imagined Village participants Andy Gangadeen on drums and Barney Morse Brown on cello, together with Robert Jarvis on trombone, join Chris on guitar and fiddle. Nothing sounds quite likeit – the unique instrumentation matches Wood’s expressive voice perfectly, while the content of his new songs retains the subtly humane vision of ‘Trespasser’ and ‘The Lark Descending’.
