Borrowing Procedure & Costs
Members of all the Early Music Fora are automatically considered as library members and are welcome to borrow this material for up to three months, without charge (other than the cost of postage and packaging). If you are not a member of NEEMF you will be asked for proof of Forum Membership.
Others (individuals and organisations) may borrow material from the collection for a nominal library membership charge of £10 per year in addition to post and packaging costs. You may, if you wish, collect music from the National Centre for Early Music during office hours.

Choose your material using the Library Catalogue
Having chosen your material, return your request form. This can be done online or by post to
The Hon. Librarian. The National Centre for Early Music, St Margaret's Church, Walmgate, YORK YO1 9TL
On receipt of your request the music can be:
1. Sent to you by post (Note that large orders will be sent by carrier) with a note of the postal costs and an acknowledgement form or
2. Collected in person from the NCEM during office hours (10am - 5pm) - please bring your acknowledgment form with you.
On receipt you should sign the acknowledgement form and return it with a cheque (payable to York Early Music Foundation) to cover the cost of postage (and your membership fee if you are not a member of an Early Music Forum).
Note that the library is staffed only one day a week (usually Thursdays) so you should allow 7-10days for the acknowledgment of your request.
Returning your music
Music should be returned within three months of the date of issue either by post or in person at the National Centre for Early Music during office hours (10am-5pm)
Please Note that at the moment the National Centre for Early Music has no facilities for browsing the library in person.
