York Early Music International Young Artists Competition 2019


The next York Early Music International Young Artists Competition takes place from 10 - 13 July 2019

Closing date for applications Friday 18 January 2019.  Details of how to apply will be posted in autumn 2018.

This prestigious biennial competition takes place as part of York Early Music Festival. Recognised as a major international platform for emerging talent in the world of early music, it attracts musicians from all over the globe, offering a major boost to young professional careers with opportunities for performance, recording and broadcasting, and international exposure.  

Email education@ncem.co.uk if you would like to be sent details of the 2019 and future competitions when they become available. The 2021 competition will take place from 7 - 10 July 2021.

Congratulations to Sollazzo Ensemble, winners of the 2015 competition, who continue to receive fantastic accolades and awards for their debut recording 'Parle qui veut: Moralising Songs of the Middle Ages', produced by Linn Records as part of their prize. BarrocoTout, winners of the 2017 competition, returned to York in July for a performance in the York Early Music Festival and to make their debut recording with Philip Hobbs of Linn Records. We look forward to hearing the results!
