Inspired by a project in the Derbyshire Peak District with Jarvis Cocker and Jeremy Deller, Supriya Nagarajan worked with long-time collaborator and composer Duncan Chapman to create a whole suite of new music.

Dusk Notes is a spiritual work that speaks to the Hindu gods, particularly Krishna the god of compassion, tenderness and love; and one of the most popular and widely revered among Indian divinities. Featuring songs whose melodies date back to the 2nd and 3rd century, Dusk Notes has ragas to suit the mood of a mellow winter evening at the time of twilight just before the sun goes down. Duncan Chapman sampled beautiful natural sounds including the Dawn chorus at Willingham by Stow Lincolnshire, Streams at La Chaux Switzerland, evening ambiences in Helsinki and Bergen and even candles burning in St James Church in Reading.
