Through the Eye of a Lens
In these travel-deprived times, violinist Kati Debretzeni – leader of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment – takes us on a virtual tour of Europe starting with a visit to one of the most prominent Italian musicians on the London scene of the late 17th c., Nicola Matteis. Kati moves us on to Salzburg to pay a call on Johann Joseph Vilsmayr – and his formidable teacher, the virtuoso Heinrich Biber – before heading north to Stockholm, where Johan Helmich Roman is court musician. We complete our tour back in the warmth of Saxony with J. S. Bach’s monumental Partita in d minor.
Please note there is a £1.50 administration fee per transaction.
