Ouse: 7 Bridges
Thursday 10 March 7.30pm
£15.00 (£12.00 concessions)
Join brother & sister creative team Gavin & Tamar Osborn for Ouse: 7 bridges, a multimedia performance exploring some of the histories & stories of the river & its bridges in York. Instrumental sound from flute & saxophone will combine with text, digital sound & visuals – using sound, images & video recorded along (& sometimes in) the river, especially for this piece.
The performance runs without interval, followed (after a short break) by a Q&A with the creator-performers. Ouse: 7 bridges is the second part of their Ouse trilogy riverine, following on from last year’s online work Goole Soundings (you don’t need to have seen this, but it’s available here)
Tamar Osborn is one of the UK’s most respected saxophonists & multi-instrumentalists. Leader & composer for her band Collocutor, with 3 acclaimed albums alongside numerous live/broadcast performances, she also works with luminaries such as Dele Somisi & Sarathy Korwar, most recently touring globally with Akram Khan’s esteemed contemporary dance piece Xenos.
Gavin Osborn flautist, composer & sound artist, his bespoke projects exploring unique places/spaces have mesmerised audiences: from wetland centre to church crypt, transformed ex-council house in Essex (Talliston), to the pools, Turkish baths & accommodation of Victoria Baths, Manchester.
