In the second half of the 18th century, every respectable court throughout Europe employed musicians to provide functional music for official occasions, special celebrations and everyday entertainment. Small wind-bands made up of oboes, horns and bassoons were especially popular in the Habsburg lands, and Ensemble Sarbacanes here scatter a few jewels from Vienna’s musical life to offer us a glimpse into the colourful repertoire of the classical wind sextet.
Sarbacanes is supported by EEMERGING+ a Europe-wide funding programme for young up-and-coming ensembles in the field of early music funded by Creative Europe.
Please note there is a £1.50 administration fee per transaction
