OUR COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY FOR SONGS UNDER SKIES

We have introduced a number of measures in line with current government advice for outdoor performances during the coronavirus pandemic. These measures are under constant review as things change but here are the current plans which apply to the Songs Under Skies performances at the NCEM.

Arrival
The entrance to the NCEM garden performances is via the gate from Walmgate opposite One Stop. Please note that the Percy’s Lane entrance will be closed to audience members.
We will open the gates at 6:30pm which is 30mins before the start of the performance to allow time for staggered arrival and to avoid large queues. Please arrive before 7:00pm as we will close the gates at this point.
All tickets will be sent digitally and will be checked without contact and at a distance on arrival. Our stewards will then direct you to the seating areas.
See below for more details on our ticketing policy.

Timings
The event will include two 30min performances which will be separated by a 30min interval.

Food and Drink
The NCEM bar will be open throughout the evening serving hot and cold drinks including local draught ale, and some simple snacks. We ask that you follow our one-way system throughout the venue and observe a 2m social distance when queuing. When going inside, we will ask you to wear a face covering in line with the current government advice.
It would really help us too if you would like to pre-order and drinks or snacks. Our menu is here, and orders can be placed by emailing events@ncem.co.uk. There will be a collection point in the garden on the night where payment can be taken.

Toilets
The NCEM toilets will be open throughout the performances if needed. We are now limited to one person per set of toilets so there may be queues. When going inside, we will ask you to wear a face covering in line with the current government advice.

Social Distancing
The seating area will be set out in your pre-booked ‘pods’ which will be at a 2m distance from others. Our stewards will direct you as you arrive. We will provide chairs but you are also welcome to bring your own mats/chairs to sit on.
There will also be a one-way system in place to help you move around the space.

Departing
Once the performance has ended, our stewards will manage your departure from the garden, so we don’t have large groups of people leaving at once. Please be patient with our stewards and follow their direction.
Ticketing Policy
If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in direct contact with a diagnosed individual in the last 14 days and have been advised to self-isolate, then you must not attend the event. If you are unable to attend due to illness then please contact us at boxoffice@ncem.co.uk to arrange a ticket transfer or refund. Tickets can only be refunded if a performance has sold out.
If it is raining of the day of the performance, then we cannot offer you a refund. In these instances we hope to be able to bring the event inside depending on current guidelines for performing arts venues. Performances will still go ahead unless it is unsafe to do so. Please do come dressed for the weather on the day.
If a performance in cancelled for any reason, then we will contact you to let you know and to arrange a refund of your ticket money.
Please note that tickets MUST be purchased in advance. To reduce contact points, we will not be selling tickets on the door.
When booking, we will ask for your contact details including your mobile number which may be passed on to the test and trace scheme if required.
