York Opera returns-after an extended break -to the National Centre for Early Music in May 2022 with Tales of Kings and Queens – an evening of staged scenes from Mary Stuart by Donizetti, Merrie England by German, King Arthur by Purcell, and Macbeth by Verdi. These varied extracts for soloists and chorus have been carefully chosen to give audiences a flavour of all four operas and the atmospheric setting of the NCEM will lend great ambiance to these tales of royalty.
