Music for a Prussian Salon

Boxwood & Brass presents an evening concert exploring the life and legacy of the Berlin court clarinettist and composer Franz Tausch whose music was a melting pot of changing musical styles at the end of the Classical period. Boxwood & Brass specialises in performing Classical and Early-Romantic wind repertoire on period instruments and is led by Emily Worthington who joined the University of York as a Lecturer in Music (Historical Performance) in January 2022.

Baroque+ Day: 100 Years in Berlin

Historical Performance students and staff at the University of York present a day of concerts at the National Centre for Early Music exploring the musical life of the Prussian capital from the Baroque to the early Romantic period.
