The Bach dynasty brought great innovation and expression to the motet genre. In this concert, we explore music composed by Johann Sebastian and members of his considerable musical family, including uncles, cousins and sons. Motets by these ‘other Bachs’ contain treasures in a surprising range of musical styles. Alongside the joyous Jauchzet dem Herrn by JS Bach, we present examples from JC Bach, JM Bach and CPE Bach.
