An afternoon exploring the music of George Frideric Handel in the company of Rory McCleery, director of The Marian Consort. Learn the secret and surprising origins of some of Handel’s best-loved choruses as you sing movements from his oratorios, including Messiah and Israel in Egypt, and see how this composer, who “takes other men’s pebbles and polishes them into diamonds” elevated the act of musical borrowing to an artform.
