The National Centre for Early Music is based in a medieval church in York. Home of the internationally acclaimed York Early Music Festival, the NCEM promotes a year-round series of jazz, world, folk and early music concerts as well as a thriving education programme.

We are delighted to announce the winners of the NCEM Composers Award 2012, presented in
association with BBC Radio 3 and The Tallis Scholars - Alex Woolf (18 and under category) and Benjamin Rowarth (19 to 25
category). Their pieces will
be performed at Durham Cathedral on 2nd June by The Tallis Scholars and
broadcast on BBC Radio 3's Early Music Show at 1pm on Sunday 1 July
