International Young Artists Competition Winners 2013
The York Early Music International Young Artists Competition takes place as part of York Early Music Festival. A biennial competition for early music ensembles, it is recognised as a major international platform for emerging talent in the early music world, offering a major boost to professional careers with opportunities for performance, recording and broadcasting.
"Participating in the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition has been a great experience in itself, and winning the jury prize was a great achievement for us. Winning the competition has brought us a lot of public recognition and a great deal of external encouragement to continue our work and development.
"We feel it's a bit early to tell exactly how this achievement will influence the group's career, but since the competition we definitely have been working with a renewed energy and optimism, and are well on our way to organising and preparing various projects for the coming seasons.
"We appreciate immensely the fantastic work done by the NCEM in organising both the York Early Music Festival and the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition; feel very grateful for the opportunities that have been opened up for us; and are very proud to collaborate with this fantastic organisation in trying to contribute to the development of early music."
