York St John Students Join percussionist Adriano Adewale

Second year music students from York St John University were treated to a wonderful workshop and performance experience at the National Centre for Early Music with internationally renowned percussion virtuoso Adriano Adewale. Adriano led year music students in a workshop exploring Brazilian rhythms, sounds and timbres.

Chris Bartram, Senior Lecturer in Music at York St John University, said: "Adriano proved a wonderful workshop leader, giving the students demonstrations of instruments and leading them in a range of practical percussion activities. The experience is absolutely invaluable for our music students as they get to interact with and be inspired by world-class musicians.

The students also returned for the public performance given by Adriano with pianist Benjamin Taubkin and described the performance as 'simply breathtaking!'.
