Biography

Duo Dorado is made up of two prize-winning early-music specialists who are passionate about music of the baroque era. Slick, dynamic and accessible, Duo Dorado has played across the UK and beyond.  We have received critical acclaim for our recordings of little-known early English repertoire and were selected artists for the Making Music scheme 2015-16.

Great music, lively presentation
Our programmes mix composers such as Vivaldi, Bach and Handel with other rarer treats. Wild, sweet, passionate, flirtatious, our music offers a huge variety of sound colours and textures. We always talk to the audience and introduce the music with readings and anecdotes.

Visually stunning
In addition to high-quality musicianship and infectious enthusiasm, our performances offer a stunning visual experience. Our fabulous harpsichord, decorated with eighteenth-century painting and gold leaf, forms a musical and visual centrepiece that will take your breath away. A feast for the eyes as well as the ears!

'Charming!' - BBC Radio 3

'David's spectacular harpsichord aroused great admiration... Both musicians displayed remarkable technical proficiency... An enjoyable aspect of this concert was the rapport between the performers and the audience...' - Dorset Echo

'Assured and stylish' - Early Music Review
