Each year we complement our Choral Pilgrimage Tour with the opportunity to delve deeper into the rich history behind the repertoire.
Ever wondered how the infamous Allegri Miserere has evolved throughout its long history? Interested in how MacMillan has paid tribute through his own modern version? Join soprano and leading musicologist Sally Dunkley, Martin J Kemp, Emeritus Professor of the History of Art at Oxford University, and a consort of professional singers as they uncover the stories behind the 2013 Choral Pilgrimage repertoire.
Martin will share his expertise on the history and visual art of the Sistine Chapel, complemented by Sally's insights into the exciting musical tapestry of this year's tour, with a special focus on the new evolutionary version of Allegri's Miserere. In addition, a consort of singers will provide musical excerpts.
Ticket price includes lunch.
